Make a wish and place it in your heart. Anything you want, everything you want. Do you have it? Good. Now believe it can come true. You never know where the next miracle is gonna come from, the next smile, the next wish come true. But if you believe that it’s right around the corner, and you open your heart and mind to the possibility of it, to the certainty of it. You just might get the thing you’re wishing for. The world is full of magic. You just have to believe in it. So make your wish. Do you have it? Good. Now believe in it. With all your heart.

There are moments in our lives when we find ourselves at a crossroads. The choices we make in those moments can define the rest of our days. And, of course when faced with the unknown, most of us prefer to turn around and go back. But, once in a while, people push onto something better. Something found just beyond the pain of going it alone. And just beyond the bravery and courage it takes to let someone in. Or to give someone a second chance. Something beyond the quiet persistence of a dream. Because, it’s only when you’re tested that you truly discover who you are. And, it’s only when you’re tested that you discover who you can be. The person you want to be does exist; somewhere on the other side of hard work and faith and belief. And, beyond the heartache and fear of what lies ahead.

Happy Holidays

I’m typing this post while I’m staring at snow melting out my window. Snow gets everyone in a holiday mood and I’m no exception! Sadly, kids (I was guilty myself) have this idea that Christmas is only about gifts…and it seems adults only have Thanksgiving to get to Black Friday. Since when did the holidays become nothing more than about material things??

As I get older I’ve had this huge…I guess, realization, that holidays are so special because each Christmas/Thanksgiving/Hannukah/Kawanzaa/New Year’s Eve etc. are suppose to be about being with those you love and enjoying their company. Yet, it has turned into what we can get out of it or some see it as a chore to even be around those they care about.

Celebrations that come once a year should be seen as special, they should be embraced with open hearts, laughter, and love. We’ve lost sight of what the holidays stand for, why they ever came about. Each have their own special meaning (some depending on your beliefs), but every single one is about family, friends, and celebrating life!

Each holiday may mark the last you’ll see a certain loved one, each holiday marks special times in all our lives, and each holiday gives us new memories. A year from now you won’t remember the gifts you got or the food you ate. You’ll remember the time spent. This year make it time well spent, embrace the spirit of the holidays, and enjoy every second with those you love and who love you.

On October 20th, 2010 at around 4:37pm my little brother hit a tree head on going around 60 mph in perfect weather…he never even hit his brakes. His phone records showed his last text went out at 4:36pm. My brother died that day, he was only 18. Please don’t text & drive. Look at this picture, this is reality & it shows what can happen to you if you text & drive. Join me in saving lives, possibly yours.
